+ The front desk staff at check in was accommodating and warm, and the location was very convenient
− The hotel is in great need of repairs - a lot of places showing wear and tear that really should have been addressed and lent a very unpleasant experience to the stay: the edges of the room's carpet flooring is frayed to the point of exposing the underside, snagged and ripped my sock when I stepped on it. The edges on the bath towels were frayed across the entire edge. The hook on the back of the bathroom door had broken off and was never fixed. The mounting brackets on the shower door and towel racks had come loose and rotated upside down. The mesh webbing of the seat of the desk chair had rips/holes in it. Further, Housekeeping did not refill the toiletries before or during my stay despite my requests - there was less than an inch of lotion in it when I checked in for a 5 night stay. Hotel elevators were also extremely slow - with over a 5 minute wait during busy times, and don't always work. On one occasion, I selected the 26th floor, the elevator instead stopped at the 6th floor, let someone on and started going back down - and my floor button had deselected itself. Also encountered racist front desk staff: I stayed alone, spoke English the whole time, checked in with my US driver's license and was not asked for my home address. When I got my invoice, the hotel staff unilaterally added "China" to my address. I'm not Chinese, nor have I ever lived in China. When I left feedback on this issue, the hotel representative sent an "apology" email that didn't even address me by name and that called the issue a "miscommunication" rather than actually taking responsibility or making efforts to fix the issue.
