      + We had been warned that the room would be small, but while smallish it was well designed and we never felt cramped.

      − We chose the location on the Bowery because we had come to NYC to attend an event held there. The Bowery is still a dicey neighborhood, however -- gentrification rubs shoulders with homelessness, the New Museum with the Bowery Mission -- and it suffers from the disadvantage of being so far downtown that it's a lengthy trek to most of the city's points of interest. (An exception was the Tenement Museum, just a few blocks away, as was Russ and Daughters delicatessen. Brooklyn -- the bridge and the borough -- were near as well.)
